Owens Corning Preferred Contractor
Zenith Roofing Services installs Owens Corning shingle systems across San Diego County and the Temecula area. We inspect the deck, slope, flashings and ventilation, then specify shingles, accessories and eligible warranty protection as one documented roof system.

A practical starting comparison
The right answer depends on the property, current product data, design direction and applicable code path. Zenith confirms those details before the final specification.

Product features and regional availability can change. Confirm the specified product, color, current rating and accessory package in the written proposal. Review the official Duration Series comparison.
Owens Corning Total Protection Roofing System
Owens Corning describes the Total Protection Roofing System as an integrated group of components designed to help a roof perform in three critical areas. Zenith still verifies the deck, slope, transitions and attic before specifying the final assembly.
Important system distinction: Owens Corning states that non-Owens Corning items such as flashing, fasteners, pipe boots and wood decking are excluded from the branded Total Protection Roofing System. Zenith still inspects and specifies those roof-critical details separately. Read the official system overview.
How Zenith turns the manufacturer system into a roof-specific scope
Open the roof, document concealed conditions and correct the nailing surface where the approved scope requires it.
Specify compatible underlayment and focused protection at eaves, walls, chimneys, valleys and penetrations.
Coordinate starter, field shingles, hip and ridge products, drip edge and flashing as one installation.
Evaluate intake and exhaust for the actual attic instead of prescribing one vent type for every property.

California cool-roof guidance
It depends. For permit applications submitted on or after January 1, 2026, California's 2025 Energy Code applies. The correct path still depends on climate zone, building type, roof slope, project scope and applicable exceptions. A product name by itself does not settle compliance.

The exact protection level and eligibility are confirmed in the written Zenith proposal.
Owens Corning Preferred Contractor warranty options
Zenith can offer eligible Owens Corning System Protection and Preferred Protection limited warranties as a Preferred Contractor. Coverage is not automatic. It depends on the selected shingles, qualifying components, installation requirements and registration, so the proposal must identify the exact protection level.
50-year Owens Corning warranty guidance
This plain-language comparison separates product-defect coverage, contractor-workmanship coverage and qualifying component requirements before the roof inspection.
What is the Owens Corning 50-year warranty? Owens Corning's current comparison lists a 50-year TRU PROtection period for qualifying System Protection and Preferred Protection roofing systems. Preferred Protection also lists workmanship coverage for the first 10 years. These are different coverage categories, and the actual warranty document controls.
Current limited-lifetime product coverage for eligible shingles. It does not list contractor workmanship coverage.
Extended manufacturing-defect protection for a qualifying Owens Corning roofing system. It does not list workmanship coverage.
Combines the qualifying 50-year manufacturing-defect protection period with workmanship coverage for the first 10 years.
Owens Corning explains that this initial period includes labor cost to repair or replace qualifying defective materials. The exact shingle, components, structure type, limitations and warranty terms determine coverage.
Owens Corning currently requests the installation date, shingle type, shingle color and installed squares for registration. Zenith's closeout identifies the installed products and warranty submitted for the project.
Owens Corning currently states that transfer to a second owner must be initiated within 60 days of the real-estate transfer and may require supporting documents and a fee.

Yes. Zenith Roofing Services is an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor and a California C-39 roofing contractor, CSLB #1036112. Enhanced manufacturer protection depends on the selected system, qualifying components, installation requirements and registration.
Owens Corning describes Preferred Contractors as independent contractors who meet its requirements for professionalism and reliability. Current program requirements include applicable licensing and insurance, at least $1 million in general liability insurance, and approved business credit. Preferred Contractors may offer eligible System Protection and Preferred Protection limited warranties.
Owens Corning's current warranty comparison lists a 50-year TRU PROtection period for qualifying System Protection and Preferred Protection roofing systems. Preferred Protection also lists workmanship coverage for the first 10 years. The actual warranty document, installed products and registration control coverage.
Both current extended options list a 50-year TRU PROtection period for qualifying systems. System Protection does not list workmanship coverage and generally requires Owens Corning hip and ridge shingles plus two other qualifying accessories. Preferred Protection lists 10 years of workmanship coverage and generally requires hip and ridge shingles, underlayment and two additional qualifying accessories.
Owens Corning currently identifies four qualifying roofing components for Preferred Protection: Owens Corning hip and ridge shingles, Owens Corning underlayment and two additional qualifying Owens Corning accessories. No. Total Protection describes the integrated SEAL, DEFEND and BREATHE roofing-system approach. A warranty is a separate legal document with its own product, contractor, installation and registration requirements.
Zenith installs Owens Corning Oakridge, TruDefinition Duration and Duration COOL architectural shingle systems when they fit the roof, design goals and applicable requirements. Product availability, color, roof slope, ventilation and accessories are confirmed in the proposal.
No single answer applies to every roof. The current energy-code path depends on permit date, climate zone, building type, roof slope, project scope and applicable exceptions. Zenith verifies the jurisdiction and specified product rating before recommending a cool-roof assembly.
No. It provides a preliminary planning range. It cannot see concealed layers, damaged decking, flashing conditions, low-slope areas, ventilation or access constraints. A final Zenith proposal requires roof measurements and an inspection.
Document roof concerns and warning signs, compare products and colors, review the complete written scope and warranty options, prepare the property for installation, and keep the final registration and closeout records.
A complete roof is more than visible shingles. The specified assembly can include deck correction, underlayment, leak protection, drip edge, starter, field shingles, hip and ridge shingles, flashing and balanced ventilation. The proposal should list the exact components.
Owens Corning currently lists the installation date, shingle type, shingle color and number of installed roofing squares among the information needed for registration. Zenith supplies applicable closeout documents for the warranty included in the contract.
Owens Corning currently states that transfer to the second owner must be initiated within 60 days of the real-estate transfer. Supporting documents and a fee may apply under the warranty in effect at installation.
